The Autopian Track Day: A Day of Fun, Cars, and Community
I had the pleasure of attending the first official Autopian Track Day at Lime Rock Park, and it was an absolute blast. The event was a member-only affair, and it was a testament to the power of community and shared passion for cars. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was going to be something special. The mix of cars was incredible, with everything from Toyobarus to Chryslers and even a grandfather clock-adorned Maverick.

One of the highlights of the day was the wet skidpad. It was a blast to see the older cars and those with questionable handling take to the track. The fast times at the Proving Grounds were also a highlight. The instructors' guidance allowed for multiple cars to be on the track at the same time, and the different car owners from various brands and backgrounds bonded over their shared love of cars. The van race was another highlight. Two of the three vans ended up in the same autocross group, and it was like watching a bizarro IMSA. The race was close and exciting, and the crowd cheered on the drivers as they pushed their vehicles to the limit. The sense of community and shared passion was on full display.
The award ceremony was also a highlight. The organizers gave out awards for things like being slow, having a car that didn't seem like it would make it home, and having the oldest car. The prizes were fun and varied, and the certificates were a nice touch. It was a great way to celebrate the day and the community.
